We just did the drive from Boise to Missoula on April 10. Early spring, but, still late winter! It’s about 250 miles of driving along rivers in beautiful river canyons. Idaho 55 north out of Boise to 95, to 13, then 12 into Montana. A beautiful mountain pass into Montana, Lolo Pass.
